Eva Lundberg
My name is Eva Lundberg and I am one of four teachers in our group. This is actually my fourth trip to Goa connected to internationalization projects (SIDA: Athena and Atlas). I really look forward to bringing this group of enthusiastic young people to beautiful, hospitable Goa.
I am a teacher of Health and Care-related subjects; medicine, ethics, social care. I also teach Religion, a subject that I find most fascinating and have indulged in at university.
I am a trained nurse and have largely had my focus on infectious diseases.
Nature and wild life is very important to me, as it is to many Swedish people. I feel connected to oceans, love to sail and to be near water (or in it). Photography is another interest, which I hope to develop more when retired.
I am convinced that exchange projects are a great investment for individuals, schools, nations and of course in a more global aspect. Many of my former students have expressed their gratitude of having had the possibility to be a part of the projects. One student stated: “I have never learned so many important things in such a short time”.
My expectations for projects like these are that young people should get to know other cultures, create understanding of ways of life not entirely similar to their own, create longlasting friendships and deepen their interest in global issues.
When I was young space was filled with Beatles, Rolling Stones, hippies
and rumours of secluded beaches in Goa where you could be together in an alternative style of life and look for Truth and meaning of life. I was not part of that movement – but I was devoted to the Beatles.
